What is the New Normal?

Sheldon L. Stone will present "What is the New Normal?" at 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, in Schneider Hall. His talk will be followed by a question-and-answer period and reception. Stone is a partner in Amherst Partners, LLC, an investment banking, turnaround and consulting management firm. The company has offices in Birmingham and Ann Arbor, Mich.; Chicago; and Columbus, Ohio. Stone, who has served in roles such as interim chief executive officer, chief restructuring officer, and court appointed receiver, provides assistance in the planning and execution of sell-side processes and the disposition and liquidation of underperforming assets. He has extensive experience in vendor and customer negotiations, accommodation agreements, debt restructurings and recapitalizations. Previously, Stone was a partner with the Pillar Group LLC, a restructuring and turnaround services provider that merged with Amherst Partners. His background also includes related experience as manager of consulting services with Plante & Moran, PLLC, and a consultant with Booz, Allen and Hamilton. A fluent speaker of Japanese, Stone earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Arts in Organizational Behavior from WMU as well as a Master of Business Administration from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University.
